ATLANTA: NBC Investigation on Medication Switching
11Alive NBC Atlanta (6/2/2010) - The NBC Center For Investigative Action featured a segment titled “New Georgia Law Aimed to Protect Patients From Generic Drug Switching.” Epilepsy patient Claudia Woodruff of Fayetteville, GA and Atlanta neurologist Dr. Larry Seiden speak about their personal experiences with medication switching and express support for new consumer protection legislation effective October 1, 2010. The new law, House Bill 194, will ensure pharmacies indicate on the prescription label that a generic substitution has been made. This legislation empowers patients with the knowledge to ask good questions of their pharmacist and health care provider, and advocate for their own health.
