What is RSS

RSS is a way to tell your favorite websites to let you know when they have new content. RSS also allows you to access this content on your own timetable. RSS does not clog up your email.

First, you pick an RSS Feed Reader. A couple of free and easy to use ones are Google Reader and Bloglines.

Second, when you see an RSS icon, click it. The page that comes up will give you everything you need to enable the content you want to come to you.

For a simple and quick video description of how RSS works, view the video at the bottom of this page.

Press Release: Local Nonprofit Making Healthy Impact on Atlanta’s Men

The 2nd Annual Men’s Health Expo, held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, drew more than 300 people to a day of informative seminars, free health screenings, a showcase of health and wellness products and services, and more. The annual community event is in recognition of National Men’s Health Week, a national movement to heighten awareness of preventable health problems.

“We look forward to highlighting the importance of health and wellness education for men through community outreach events like our annual Expo,” said Roger Vernier, Chairman of the Board, Men’s Health & Wellness Center. “Events like this, our ongoing educational programs and interactive web resources, engage men and encourage them to make better lifestyle choices.”

This year’s Expo screened men on several key indicators for maintaining overall health: blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, PSA, lung function, bone density, skin health, body mass index and others. Dr. Nikhil L. Shah, Founder and President of the Men’s Health & Wellness Center and Section Chief, Urological Surgery at Saint Joseph’s Hospital introduced the Expo with his presentation ‘What Makes Men’s Health Different.”  Other presenters included Gregg Orloff, PhD, Warren Jacobs, MD and Nicholas Chronos, MD.

“I never knew there were so many ways I could influence my health for the better,” said Dennis Rose, an Expo conference attendee. “I’ve learned a lot here today and I’m glad to have a resource dedicated to helping men take more control of our health and live better as we age.”

Nineteen corporate sponsors joined the Men’s Health & Wellness Center to sponsor the 2009 community event including Abbott Laboratories, Aflac, Coloplast, Pfizer and Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
