Wellness EXPO Removes a Man’s Excuses!
4th Annual Community EXPO Targets Men’s Health
Atlanta, GA March 18, 2011 In support of its mission to educate and encourage men to make healthier lifestyle choices to prevent disease, the Men’s Health & Wellness Center is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Men’s Health EXPO on to be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. The free community event, co-sponsored with Saint Joseph’s Prostate Cancer Center, is in recognition of National Men’s Health Week, a movement to heighten awareness of preventable health problems.
This year’s EXPO is designed to motivate and encourage men and loved ones, to focus more on their overall health and well-being. Several vital health screenings including blood pressure and stroke assessment, blood sugar, cholesterol, prostate cancer including PSA and prostate exam, weight and body mass index, vision, oral cancer, pulmonary function, balance and nerve response will be available. Additionally, the EXPO will showcase several products and services of benefit to men.
Participants are encouraged to spend the day at the Men’s Health EXPO. A continental breakfast will be served and lunch is available. Interactive activities at the EXPO will acquaint men with the the latest tools and techniques to stay healthy. Valuable door prizes will be given away, and participants completing health screenings will receive gifts and coupons from sponsors for products and services to improve well-being. Registration and breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. Free parking is available in the west garage at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
While the EXPO is free to participants, there is a $25 fee required to hold appointment reservations. All screenings will be scheduled in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may choose to have their $25 fee refunded at the event or to donate it to the Men’s Health & Wellness Center, a nonprofit organization.
